Lip blush tattoo can be removed using either laser or saline solution. Saline solution works best for the facial tissue so any ink that’s outside your vermillion lip border; this is a non-laser treatment.
Depending on how saturated the lips are I will advise the best course of action. I generally like to always start removal with saline as it helps with scar tissue, and helps to lift the ink to the surface, once the ink is faded a little with the saline solution we can move to laser for the more stubborn darker areas.
Many lip blush inks contain Blue, Red and some can contain White so we have to be careful when using laser, a test patch is done in a small area to check for a reaction, this is a colour flip (chemical reaction to the iron oxide in the ink which can cause the ink to flip to blue/grey/brown)

Lip blush tattoo when not done correctly with the correct pressure can cause scarring. The great thing about using Botched Ink saline solution is I find it helps reduce scar tissue. Whilst scaring is present, it can be harder to lift the link especially using laser.
By starting with saline we can soften the scar tissue allowing the ink to be lifted to the surface and then this in turn makes an easier job for laser to remove the ink.
If the skin has scarring, it will not hold new pigment.

The process involves applying a solution of salt and saline to the treated area, effectively breaking down and lifting the existing pigment. The lips will produce a slight crusting on healing and once these shed we will see a lifting of colour and slight fade to the ink.
If completed within 48hrs of your lip blush tattoo treatment we can lift majority of ink but if ink has healed and settled in the skin, then a minimum of 2/3 sessions is advised to start seeing results.
Laser Lip Removal
The latest technology on permanent makeup removal is a Q-switched Nd: YAG Face and body laser machine, which targets tattoo ink pigment. This method of laser treatment can treat several skin issues. It’s mainly employed to remove tattoos but is now commonly used to remove unwanted permanent makeup.
A test patch for lip bluish with a healed period to see if any colour change is present is recommended. We can experience a colour flip of the ink when iron oxide is present in the ink.
I recommend clients commit to a minimum of 2-3 sessions. Depending on the age of the pigment and the number of times they have been worked on will all determine how much work is needed. 8 weeks of healing is needed between each removal session, and 16 weeks of healing is needed before we can start your new lips if requested.
It cannot be rushed, and the skin must completely heal before we start further work. This is not a quick turn around you must be committed to your appointments to see the best results.

Can you get lip blush removed?
Yes, you can. You have two options:
In most cases some sort of faded hue may be left but we can certainly faded a bright colour to barely noticeable, all depending on the ink present and the saturation.
If microblading has been done within 48 48hrs and you decided it was a mistake, you can have a regency removal but you only have a 48hr window before the skin starts to heal, and then you would have to wait 10/14 days until healed before then starting the removal journey. If treated within the 48hr window you are more likely to remove a majority of the ink in one session.

Will lip blush fade completely?
Lip blush in most cases will fade over time, but you are looking at 5 plus years to see minimal fade.

Can I peel my lip blush?
Lip Blush will not peel off, the ink will have been deposited into the upper dermis of the skin and in some cases if botched probably a lot deep than it should be. The skin then encapsulated this ink and there is no way of simply peeling it with superficial skin agents. We have to either break the ink down via laser or lift the ink up and out by use of saline solution that is needled into the skin to reach the dermis.

Is lip blush reversible?
Every case is different depending on the ink present and the saturation of the ink in the lips. If saline solution is applied within 48hr of lip blush tattoo treatment, then you can have a very successful lift of majority of the ink. However, if the ink has healed the unfortunately the only way of lifting it out is via a removal method There are many other removal methods on the market but considered too harsh for the lip tissue. Only saline and laser can be used effectively and safely with minimum trauma to the skin
