BEAUTY TREATMENTS

Beauty treatments in Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

My love with beauty first started some 15 years ago when I trained in facial, threading and waxing treatments.  With having some bad experiences personally with wax & threading growing up I was adamant to do my research and offer the best service and products, in particular for waxing as I knew this was a treatment so many women actually dread.

I soon came to learn that although Hot waxing has been around for some years it is not widely available as a service and many beauty salons choose to only offer strip (warm) waxing.

I honor myself in providing a service for threading that many do not, I like to take my time and give the client what they want, help them understand and manage expectations and show them how we can reshape the brow.

I never treat one client the same as we all have such an individual look that not one brow shape will suit all.  There is nothing worse than visiting a brow technician and you walk away feeling like they have not listened to what you wanted or have taken too much off which more often than none what clients tell me they have experienced themselves before visiting me.

WAX FAQS

So what’s the difference between hot wax and strip wax?

Strip or warm wax is removed with either paper or cloth.  The strips are placed onto the wax and then quickly pulled off the client to take the hair.  This can be particularly painful in more sensitive areas like bikini or underarm.

Hot wax is actually applied directly to the treatment area and once the wax dries hard it is pulled directly off.  As the hot wax helps open the pores of the skin this helps the hair to come out much easier with less breakage too, it is also a lot less painful as it is not pulling directly at the skin like strip wax does, hot wax is only attached to the hair.  As the hair is taken directly from the root many clients experience a much finer and sparse regrowth within a couple of sessions

what is strip wax best for?

Strip wax is ideal for larger treatment area’s like legs, chest, back even arms.

So what is hot wax best for?

Hot wax is ideal for more sensitive areas like bikini, underarms and even face.

Are there any risk's?

The majority of people will not experience any problems with their waxing treatment other than some discomfort.  When using hot wax many experience a much smoother finish leaving the skin silky soft and pain-free.

Obviously, there can be some risks involved and not everyone will have the same skin type or sensitivity levels so those with much more sensitive skin may experience possible side effects like redness, sensitive skin, in some cases with strip wax bruising can occur post waxing.

Post Treatment?

If planning to have any waxing treatment’s then please bear in mind there are certain factors to consider for after your treatment.

You should avoid the following for 24 hours after waxing;

Extra tight clothing, steam or sauna, exercise if you easily perspire, very hot shower or bath.  The reason for this is your pores will be open and therefore subject to becoming blocked which could then lead to infection. A cold shower or keeping cool after your wax is preferable.

Who is Waxing Suitable for?

The majority will be suitable for hot and strip wax unless they have some sort of hypersensitive skin or allergy.  Those with sensitivity can still wax but it may just mean a longer redness and recovery time.

If you have skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema, then you may wish to avoid waxing in areas that are experiencing an outbreak.  You can not wax over any broken skin or skin that is already sore, always inform your technician if you are taking any thinning steroids as this could effect your waxing results and damage the skin.

When is it best to Wax?

Hair growth needs to be at least 1-2cm and should be waxed every 4 weeks.

Preparation for Waxing?

Avoids using oils or heavy perfumes in the area being treated.  Exfoliating the area 2/3 days prior to waxing can help prepare the hair and release any ingrowing hairs lying under the skin.  If you are worried about the pain then taking a paracetamol before treatment may help.  It is best to remain as relaxed as possible and not to tense up.

The great thing about hot wax it is a lot easier than traditional strip wax and you will feel no pain directly after.
